The mega tree is made from a 40 foot ham radio tower. I poured a 3x3x3 hole full of concrete and re-rod that the tree is mounted to. 3 winches are used to raise the tree by myself. Winch 1 is attached in a trailer hitch in the motor home. It raises the tree vertically. Winch 2 is on the tree and raises the second section to its 40 foot height. After it is raised there are 6 guy cables attached to the tree and anchored in concrete. # cables at the 20 foot height and 3 more at the 40 foot level. Winch 3 is also on the tree and raises the lights to their full height. 2009 was the first year of the tree. It survived hurricane level 1 force winds with no damage.
