E681
Has anyone worked with the Sandevices E681 and Lightshow Pro? I could use some help.
I can access the E681 through the web browser and have configured the devices for the GE color effects lights.
I have also turned off the test pattern (yes it was working
) but that is about it for changes.
It appears that the Light Show Pro is just not communicating to the hardware but I know the PC is via the web browser.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Attached is my E680 setup and my LSP setup. Maybe they can help. Also, try right clicking on the controller and selecting, "test controller hardware."

1. the E681 only supports Multicast so don't try to assign it a Unicast IP address in the E1.31 plugin.
There can be many reasons why it doesn't appear to be working and its all about getting everything setup right in LSP.

Got it working, many thanks.

San Devices E681 and LSP
I am having problems getting the E681 to work with LSP also. I was able to configure the E681 via the built in web server and the test works perfect. In LSP I added the SanDevices controller and then went to test controller, that all works perfect also.
The problem I am having is when I set up a simple sequence (turning on the first 8 pixels different colors) it will not do anything. Then I thought maybe my addressing was screwed up so I copied the few lines of the sequence down through several extra channels and it started working. I figured I must be right. I had entered something wrong. To Isolate it I went back and started deleting the lines of the sequence to figure out which ones were the ones that were actually making my pixels come on. when all of the sequence had been deleted it still lit the pixels when I hit play. Weird!
What am I missing?

When using the outputs in the sequencer you need to do an optimization or else those changes that you do will not actually be converted into an output signal. What your seeing is a previous already optimized output signal that was on those channels that you have removed. Doing an optimization should fix this

That did it! Now it's working. Is there a way to keep from having to do that every time you make a change to your sequence?
Thanks

Not a reliable way yet. There is an option in configuration - system, called "perform distributed optimization," but it does not work on the 1.31 as intended. The intent was that the optimization would be performed when you place an affect, but I believe it still needs some work. So I optimize every time I make a change and want to output it.
