yes I have the Adapter, from the standard end, to a square shaped one.
On my test string:
DMX module to adapter =cat5 cable with two drops= and connected controllers to lights, do I need the 120 ohm resistor? I have a box of em, just have to find the resistor calc to figure which one is which.
I just want to hook all this up, and run a configuration test once everything gets here. Once everything works, I can save those settings and use them for all my sequences.
Then of course I'm off and running, and the real shopping begins. 250 feet of cat5 cable a case of keystone connectors, about 30 3 channel controllers, and power supplies, extension cords, the works. I just wanna get all the kinks out of the configuration first before I get REALLY invested.
I just wish I could find a way to get the True RGB light strings cheaper than a buck a bulb. It would be alot easier to run than four colors of strings per item.

FYI,
It looks like this adapter uses the FTDI chipset and FTDI drivers which is the same driver set used with the LYNX dongle. For what you are paying for this dongle I would have gone with a LYNX dongle which already has the output as RJ45 DMX format.
In order to connect to most of the DIY hardware, LOR or d-light hardware you would have to get an XLR connector (3 pin) (kind of expenisve connectors but industry DMX standard) to RJ45 adapter.
If you purchase any other DMX equipment such as a movable spotlight and other similar commercial DMX equipment you will need to have XLR connector cables (again kind of expensive compared to the RJ45 cables) in order to go from your DMX adaptor to the commercial unit.

That's cheap.
If you assemble any other DIY DMX equipment for example LYNX equipment that you compare the wiring of that adapter to the RJ45 wiring of the LYNX equipment. You may have to make another adapter for that as well.
Best of luck with your project.
