    Angry Moving timing intervals

I'm not sure if it is me or the application, but I am having serious problems with the timing intervals and moving them. I have tried it on two different computers and the behavior is the same, the following are the specs:

    HP laptop
    intel core 2 duo T7250
    2GB RAM
MS Vista Home Premium SP2 fully patched
    various applications
    LSP 1.7_10199.1632

    White Box
    Intel core 2 quad Q6600
    4GB RAM
MS Vista Ultimate SP2 Fully patched
pretty clean install with just a handful of apps.
    LSP 1.7_10199.1632

What I have done many times is the following procedure with the same results (I can replicate the problem on command!):

Start LSP from a freshly restarted workstation. (default LSP installed settings)
Create a new "media sequence". I select the same song (I have used both the wav and mp3 versions of the file) and no timing intervals
Add a Lynx Express 16 Channel controller
    Add a timing mark at .5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 second locations
Try to move the various timing marks with different and inconsistent results. The only consistent timing mark is the very first mark. The first mark will NOT move. If I select the area before the mark, then the selection area will move, but the mark will remain. The other marks may or may not move.

I am willing to supply a video (as before) to support my findings. This is very fustrating, since I have not been able to sequence anything for xmas. I have been waiting patiently with the hope that it would be fixed in the current release, but it is not so. There are only 3 months to go and sequencing is only one of the many things I have left to do. I could always go back to using Aurora show, but I would not be able to use my new Lynx hardware. My only other option would be vixen, since it seems to work a bit more reliably. I need to be able to move the timing marks consistently. PLEASE HELP. I will even call you at an arranged time to talk about this.

    Thanks,

    Charles

Hey Charles, I have had no problems moving things so let me try to help. Are you using the select tool to choose the area you want to move, right clicking and going to the interval toolbox then choosing shift sequence intervals once in there there is a time bar to choose which direction and how much you wish to move it, there is an option to move the entire sequence or the area you selected, pick one and press perform shift?

If I understand that you are just trying to move 1 timing mark just move your mouse over the timing mark (while in select mode) until the cursor changes, then lhold down the left mouse button while you drag left or right. You might need to zoom in if 2 timing marks are real close.

Thanks for the info, but the problem is not that I do not know how to move a timing mark, but that once I set timing marks, I can move some and others I can't. Sometimes multiple timing marks move even though I did not select a range.

What you describe above is what im seeing as well. So the best way to move a timing is not by dragging in the sequence grid but to actually highlight the timings you want and then rightmouse click on this and then goto the timing tools and then move that way. I know its a lot slower doing it that way but its a work around that seems to work, hope this can be fixed in the next release

Thanks Fasteddy. For a while there I thought that maybe it was just me or the way I was doing my sequencing. I could not believe that I was the only one having the problem. It is a pain and I have been waiting patiently for a fix. I think I asked the same question some time ago...

Timing marks being part of the sequencer's core functionality, is there any timeline for a fix to this issue?

Hi, I am on the same OPSYS as you are and I cannot duplicate the issue you have described, other than not being able to move the first mark. The others move fine and I can move the first one if i add another one in front of it..

I was wondering if you could send me the sequence that you are having the issue with so I can see if I can help David narrow it down.

EDIT: Okay I just got it to do what you are describing, but I am not sure how. I will try to do it again and see if I can narrow it down.
