Thread: Help importing Vixen into LSP

Hi All
I have used Vixen 2.1 and 2.5 for the last 2 years. This year I have ventured to LSP (demo right now), but will be buying it. I have seen that you can import Vixen sequences into LSP, however it is coming in as a huge 400 channel controller. From one video I watched I did create a "master" sequence with my 16 controllers and the correct channel names, but how do I get that to coincide w/ my imported Vixen sequence? Any help would greatly be appreciated, I don't want to have reprogram all of my songs, considering there are only 2 weeks left til the show should go live.

I have tried numerous ways and had no luck importing vixen files successfully. The files do come in, no names, channel details, colors, if you want 3 channels to be RGB you are out of luck, fades and level changes are mucked up, and the results dont match what the vixen file does in terms of flashing lights.

thanks, I am just trying to convert my non-rgb stuff, because I want to take advantage of the RGB ease in LSP. Maybe just have rename each channel as it was in Vixen and add the RGB controller and play with reprogramming next year? wonder if that would work?

What issues are yo having with the import?
What version of LSp are you using?
What version of vixen was the file cretaed with?
Is the profile flattened into the sequence in vixen before doing the import?

NO it is not flattened, not sure how to do this, guidance please? (I'll see if I can figure it out) and I'll try that before I send it to you Mike.

the "issue" that I have is that it is coming in as one huge channel and then it has lost all of the channel names - they just say channel 1, 2, 200, 201, etc.... or is this way it is designed?

There is an option in vixen to "Flatten the sequence into the profile. That should get you the channels, and controllers. If not send me the sequence and I will take a look at it.

EDIT: Under "Profiles" then "Flatten......."

EDIT 2: What does LSP show when you do a "main/about"? That will show you the complete version number.

Hi Mike - I just found that ... tried it and now I don't even get the sequencing into LSP. I'll send you the vix file now (one that I flattened and one not). thanks!

Got the files. The original I received has nothing in it. The flattened one has effects but no "real" profile. (controllers/channels.order etc.) Do you have the vixen profile? The profile tells vixen what kind of controllers, channels, colors etc to use. Without that LSP cant do much on importing properly.

Where did you get the original Vixen file? Can you get the profile for it?
