    Default Merge Animation files

Is it possible to merge two animation sequences? What I have done is create a sequence with an existing song and added several controllers and effects to the sequence. I then wanted to add a large cross/star to my house using SmartString RGB controller. I was having a hard time drawing the object the way I wanted and then getting the effects I wanted on such a small scale. So, I saved it as a new name and deleted all other controllers so that I could draw the image of the cross/star large on a black background to get the desired effects that I wanted and could visualize them well. Now I have to figure out how to get the Controller from one sequence with all effects transferred to the original sequence with its controllers and images.

Is there any way to do this other than copying all controller effects as a pattern and then pasting it onto the same controller in my original sequence?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

If I understand you correctly, First save your new controller to your controller library. Then you can open the sequence that you want to use or add to and add the saved controller, then open the sequence with the effects that you want to use. Then you can copy the effects from one to the other.

I ended up doing just that. I just wish I could figure out how to copy multiple channels at once. I have to copy one channel at a time. Every time I try to select multiple channels it works until I right click to copy. It then only copies the last highlighted channel.

You can select multiple channels. Click on the channel itself (not in the grid) the holding the left mouse button down, pull down the channels selecting multiple channels. Then in the first timing segment (In the grid) in the first channel right click and select copy. On the other sequence go to the first timing segment that you want right click and paste. When ask paste to nearest timing and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

Note: When you right click to copy you must be in the grid.

    It's actually easier than that.

Highlight all the channels or controllers that you want to copy. Type 'crtl' C, that copies the channels.

Place the cursor in the first cell of the controller where you wish to paste the effects and type 'crtl' V. This will paste all the copied channels into the respective rows. If you are copying multiple controllers they will paste into consecutive controllers.

    Hope that helps.
