Default New Computer i5 or i7 hyperthreading and multiple cores?

Hey, I am building a new computer. I am wondering if I can save $100.00 and purchase a new i5-2500k processor instead of an i7-2600k. My question is this... Does light show pro take advantage of hyperthreading. Also does it use the additional cores of the i7 chip? I am under the impression that when you write a program, you can take advantage of multiple cores if the processor is capable. I plan on using this box for both programming, and running the show while using the video out to a projector. I don't mind going for an i7, but if LSP will run the same on an i5, it just makes sense to go that route.

For future proofing I went with an I7 and 12m of ram even though LSP didn't really make use of the extra horsepower it probably will someday. It would help if there was a true 64 bit version.

I also went with an I7 Laptop, 64Bit O/S, 8G RAM and a dedicated Graphics processor. I did my initial test of LSP on an I3 based Laptop and that doesn't cut the mustard. I found that when adding effect transition, on the I3, it took EONs for the S/W to add each effect transition.

I'm not sure the LSP is taking advantage of the additional RAM or Graphics processor or the Quad Cores right now, but I'm sure David will take that into account at some point.
For the extra $100 I'd recommend going to the I7 spec'ed system, especially if if you are planning on running RGB LED's, the high pixel count RGB LEDs really push the system resources both when sequencing and running the scheduler. If you aren't running high pixel count LEDs, you might get away with a lower spec'ed system.
