What type of PC did you purchase? Did you install the drivers for it? While we understand you are having difficulty it is difficult to diagnose if we dont know what you have. Can you provide us some information on your setup.

Initially, you may want to try to remove LSP, delete the installation directory(save any settings that you may have created) restart. When you are doing the installation, choose the custom mode and make sure you install the driver. Once that is complete, install any driver for any product you may be using. Usually any adapter comes with its own driver that makes it work.

If it was a LYNX product, there are drivers available at the FTDI website that will make it work. Most if not all of the USB to RS485 adapters are based on the FTDI chipset so that driver installation may solve you issue.

Your antivirus solution may also stop the output if it sees LSP trying to send unauthorized data accross your network. You may need to allow LSP in your firewall program since you state that it is new.

See if any of that helps and let us know.

Yes more info is needed for us to help you out. Is your computer recognizing your dongle? (do you hear the little sound when you plug it in?) Go into your hardware manager and look under Ports and see if there is a USB Serial port showing and find out what COM # is attached to it and make sure the speed is set correctly (57600, 115200)
