  1. You still need the LOR config tool to setup the DMX channel start addresses for each LOR controller which jump in groups of 16, so controller 1 would have a DMX starting address of 1, controller 2 would have a DMX starting address of 17, controller 3 would have a starting address of 33 and so on. So you must ensure that the starting address of any LOR controller starts with any increment of 16.

Take note that very early versions of the LOR controllers may not support DMX, but the last 3 years i know they have. There used to be a document on DMX support website for DMX but it appears LOR have removed any reference to running LOR controllers in DMX. It may pay to have a post in the LOR forums asking what is the supported controllers if you have controllers more than 3 years old.

    I hope that helps
  2. All you require to run in DMX is an adaptor cable, for me i just made up the cables by cutting the cat5 cable and rejoining the correct wires.

You only need an adaptor cable when you connect a LOR controller to a DMX device and a DMX device to a LOR controller so in between the LOR controllers its just the same cable that you would normally use.

The cable adaptor is as below:

    Orange/White (1) – Blue (4)
    Orange (2) – Blue/White (5)
    Blue (4) – Orange White (1)
    Blue/White (5) – Orange (2)
  3. Hi Fasteddy,

I know that you are running LOR controllers with DMX and I would like to convert my entire show to DMX and Pixelnet. I want to change all of my controllers to DMX. Can you give me some information on how to do this. I assume that with the CTB16PC controllers that I would use the hardware configuration to set these (That is a guess I have not tried yet), but if that is then case how do I set a CTB16D? I have about 30 controllers total to change. Also I saw somewhere once where you had given the information on the Cat5 wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
