Default Creating a new plugin for Elexol Ether I/O 24

Is there a way to create custom output plugins for devices? I currently use Vixen because of its support for the Elexol Ether I/O 24; http://www.elexol.com/IO_Modules/Ether_IO_24.php but would love to use LSP because of it's video features, but I need a plugin to work with the I/O 24 module.

No Way currently to crate plug-ins. What protocol does it use in VIXEN? Is it a user plugin?
    Thanks

Yes, it's a user created output plugin.

The protocol to talk to it is pretty simple... open a telnet session to it's IP and then send a few bytes of data to set the output bits.

The programming instructions are available on Elexol's web site... it tool less than an hour for someone to make the plugin for Vixen.

    What they did was this;

    1) On application startup, initialize the device for OUTPUT only and reset all lines to 0
    2) The plugin responded to 24 channels, any value over 128 would set the bit output, anything less would clear it

That enabled real easy setting of individual channels on the timeline for triggering pneumatic effects, etc..

They didn't setup any input triggers. I wouldn't need those either.

This would be very easy to add, but the hardware would not be able to leverage a lot of the capabilities of lsp.
You can expect a plugin this season that supports it.

Great... thanks! Any chance you can have a plugin ready by June so I can use LSP for my 4th of July show? :-).

If here are additional customers that could is it, yes.
Other wise it will be in priority of customer demands.

Ok everyone... chime in if you could use a <$100 module for doing 24 channels of relays! :-)

Any update on this plugin? I know v2 just came out, I'd really like to use it w/ my relay controller.

    Thanks!

I am investigating but to date, this is the only request that I have had for the specific protocol.
unfortunately this puts it low on the priority stack.

Like I stated before, it should be quick to implement... the protocol is dead simple. The fact that you promised it 'for this season' was the only reason I bought LSP.
