Light-O-Rama User Trying to Convert to LSP...
I am a new comer to LightShow Pro. I have done a Music Choreographed Christmas light display for six years with Light-O-Rama software, so I have quite a collection of sequences I have built over the years.
The import function in LSP made it very simple to import all of my sequences and make them run in LSP. (Thank you very much! This part of the process was impressively simple!
)
The catch now is this...
The reason I am changing to LSP is because I am adding RGB controllers and lights to my display this year which Light-O-Rama has little support for.
So far I have taken one of my imported sequences and added my RGB controllers, RGB Layers, Display Preview, and Transition info to it. Now I would like to be able to export all of this configuration/setup info. that would be applicable to all of my sequences from this sequence and import it into my other sequences.
The Light-O-Rama software had a really nice feature, which made it very easy when you made controller or channel additions or changes to your system to be able to make the changes to one sequence and then roll those changes out into all of your sequences by exporting the controller and channel info to a template file which could then easily be imported into all of your existing or new sequences.
Is there a similar function to this in LSP?
I HOPE SO! Repeating everything I had to do to this sequence in all of my sequences would take more time than I have.
Is there a way to easily get all of my controller, channel, Display Preview, Transition and Layer info from the sequence I have added it to out into my others? PLEASE SAY YES! :-/
This is an issue for every LSP user that has a dynamic display, not just to those who are converting from another platform. My display changes every year, there has not been a single year that I have not added lights and controllers. This should be an easy task. If I have to manually make the same changes to every sequence every year, this will make LSP very difficult to use. I should be able to make these kinds of changes once in one sequence and then import the information into my other sequences without erasing the sequence data.

I thought I had found the solution in the: "Playback/Sequence Settings/Sequence/Load Default Controllers From" option. It brought in the controller information, but also blanked the sequence data. :\

I could not read the link Mike posted but I was wondering if you got things figured out yet? I only have 96 channels, but when I built my first sequence I saved my controllers that contained all channel info and drawings. I was then able to bring those over into a new sequence and even email them to my laptop. Not sure if that is what you were talking about or not?
