Anyone have a better solution to an RGB candy cane?

How about some type of clear or frosted tubing? You could put the lights inside and use a lot fewer lights. One thing about wrapping is you cannot see the backside and it takes so many expensive lights!

Hmmm frosted would be ideal and for the chaseing "strip" still wrap that ?

so RGB non smart leds inside to make the tube glow then wrap the stripe ?

Frosted with a wrap of white reflective tape, leaving a space so that the color that would normally red red is the part that changes color?

FE's candy canes are pretty nice looking and easy to build too.
