Default flashback recording uploading to vimeo

I am trying to upload a recording made in flash back to vimeo and when it is converting I keep gettin the message uh oh file was unable to convert , I know thier are some settings that the video needs and I set the ones in flash back that I could find . what I did was create a video and saved it to a folder on my desk top and then in vimeo I chose the file that I save , any suggestions I am not sure I have all the codecs that it requires or any of the other stuff ( bit rate , fps, wmv, ect) not sure how or what this stuff is, but before I start downloading a bunch of stuff thought I would seek experience advice first, REMEMBER I am a NEWB at this computer stuff so be gentle with me not to tech.LOL

When you are saving your file are you exporting to a FLV or AVI file format?

If not Viemo probably won't import the file.

The best thing to do is to export the video to an AVI file for uploading. Just use the Microsoft Video 1 codec and take defaults on the rest.

I am using Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and Windows 7 Professional the OS doesn't matter.

AVI is the format of how the video is stored in the file, FLI is also a format for a video file, just as is MP4 etc etc etc. I could name a dozen more but that would just confuse the situation.

Many of the video hosting sites require that you upload a video file in one of the more common formats, such as MP4, AVI etc.

BB FlashBack Express gives you two free export options for sharing the video with others as well as editing it in other programs.

Codecs is a very complex subject to cover needles to say. The basics is that is the 'driver' programs that your video software uses to render 'build the video file' such as the AVI file. This also applies to audio files as well. If you want to explore how many file formats there are out there google 'Format Factory' which is a conversion program and look at how many formats that can be converted from one to another using that program.

Mabey I need to do a how to video for using BB FlashBack Express.

Ive always created an AVI video for export to a video sharing site. You can have troubles by not using the more common standard video formats

If you want, I can setup a remote session to you. I just need to know a time to schedule it and a phone number as a backup. I will also need an e-mail as well to send you the invite. PM me this info.
