    Default Layers and Timing

Loving the Layers feature. But i have a questions about timing marks. I used the mouse tap tool to create timing marks. I used my "house" layer when making the marks. Now, when I add a chase in my swirling trees which has 8 channels per cooler it adds the appropriate marks.

Example: lets say I make tapped 4 beats with my mouse. during those 4 beats I went from Red, Green, Red, Green. Ok, now, my swirling trees, chased through all 8 Channels of red, while the background was red…so now I lost my 4 beat marks, and now have 32 mark on my other layers. Now when I want my 16 candy canes to chase each other during a 2 beat count, I can't see my original 4 beats I made because when I added the swirling tree at added all the extra marks.

So, what I am asking is: Can you set it up where only certain timing marks stay on the selected layer, so I can make new timing marks on other layers? (When I start programming RGB blends, there are going to be timing marks everywhere! I want to keep those marks on the RGB layer…can I do that?

Hope that makes sense. Thanks for everyone's help.

Short answer is no, timing marks apply to the entire sequence not just layers. You can however color selected timing marks and then work with only the color that you select. (Use Timing Hilites in the visuals ribbon)
